Blackburn (also know as Blackburn Rovers, Blackburn Rovers Football Club or The Rovers) is an English football team which is based in Blackburn, Lancashire. Blackburn football team plays in the English premier league and its football club is very popular.

Blackburn Rovers Football Club was founded in 1875 and was one of the founding clubs of the English Football League and the Premier League. The Blackburn club moto is: By Skill and Hard Work (Arte et labore in Latin)

In 1995, Blackburn has become league champions, after the Blackburn club was relegated in 1999, Blackburn was promoted back to the Premier League in 2001 and have been successful since than. The years 1999 and 2000 provided the Blackburn football club a series of many disappointments beginning Brian Kidd being sacked in October during the club was in the relegation zone and ending in 2001 after Jack Walker has died.

Since 2001, the Blackburn success included being qualified several for the UEFA Cup as League Cup winners, Premier League 6th place team and as Intertoto Cup winners.
